Joseph Ricciuti is the Executive Vice President, Distribution and Channel Management, at SEB Group of Companies. He is responsible for creating market access opportunities through strategic distribution and channel management initiatives. 

Mr, Ricciuti has 35+ years of insurance experience and combines his extensive knowledge of the Canadian benefits industry with a strong marketing focus and solid business sense. He is considered a leading expert on health-work-productivity strategies in Canada, and brings proven experience to support benefit advisors and brokers by offering innovative solutions for their clients.

Prior to this, Mr. Ricciuti served as the National Practice Leader, Health and Group Benefits, for Watson Wyatt Canada, and most recently as the Managing Director, Buck Consultants Canada. He also served as the SVP, Group Distribution & Marketing, at Canada Life. From research, to creating innovative benefit solutions, Mr. Riccituti has successfully worked with group producers and HR consultants to help them with complex benefit plan redesign challenges and cost containment issues across a wide section of industries, public and private, union and non-unionized businesses.  

Mr. Ricciuti has written and contributed many articles for industry publications and is often asked to speak at business and industry conferences. He led the Canadian research team that published many of Watson Wyatt’s Staying@Work surveys, and co-authored a major research study: ‘Literature Review and Gap Analysis Report: Mental Health in the Labour Force, on behalf of the Canadian Insurance Industry and the Canadian Institutes for Healthcare Research. Mr. Ricciuti recently published an international report with Bill Wilkerson and the Honourable Michael Wilson: Breaking Through: Brain Health in a Brain Based Economy.

Mr. Ricciuti is the recipient of the prestigious award of merit from the Honourable Michael Kirby, for his contribution in helping to authenticate mental health as a bona fide business issue. He was also part of the original group of professional leaders whose vision in 2009 led to the 2012 National Standard of Canada on Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace.

Mr. Ricciuti is active in the community: his volunteerism has included participation on a number of not-for-profit boards and committees, focused on healthcare, mental health and charity work.  He is an honours business graduate of McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario.
